Ob & Gyn day one

I survived my first day at the hospital with the most common casualtied of course. Casualties including not knowing where to go, where to be and where anything is. But with some help I was able to get my outfit, which is extremely doctorish, that is white pants and shirt with a lab coat. Dont think I have ever looked so respectable...

Morning meeting gave some idea of what went on at the department and it was nice being able to follow most of what was going on. Because the fact is that im entering this part of my rotation without the theoretical knowledge, that i just have to read and pick up as I go. Dont think its going to be any problem but I was worried about being lost in the beginning but that doesnt look like its going to happen or rarely at worst.

It seems that a lot of that stuff that was covered in Debrecen is really stuck in there somewhere and on the spot I will recall some amazing info.

I was delighted to hear that my first day was going to be spent in the surgery room, some place that has become quite common after my Debrecen experience. So as soon as one of the doctors was not available I was quick to pick up the slack and offer my services. Someone thought that scrubbing in would be some problem but I assured them it was not. Got in there and assisted with a vaginal histerectomy. Then I saw cervical neoplasia removals and more abortiosn than I cared to see.

At the end of the day I got my picture taken for my ID card and then I was handed the key to my office, which is not mine but since I am the only student there at the moment im going to call it mine until I have to share ....
